ABOUT

After a sell-out premiere in LA, a BBC radio adaptation broadcast to great acclaim, and a critically lauded run at Bewley’s Café Theatre, SHARD returns to Irish audiences for a Spring Tour from April 27 – May 23, 2026.

Step into the world of SHARD, a chilling one-man Irish folk horror written by Stewart Roche, expertly directed by Alan Smyth and performed by Neill Fleming. Staged in the round for an intimate, immersive experience, the production brings a host of characters and a haunting story to life through voice, movement, and presence.

From sold-out runs in Los Angeles to rave reviews in Dublin, SHARD is a masterclass in storytelling—blending Irish myth with modern psychological tension.

You wouldn’t think it to look at him now, but Spooner was once quite the whiz in finance. Good in presentations, great at crunching numbers—a real company man. But beneath the veneer of success lies a desire for something different in life.

So when he’s offered the opportunity to join a community led by the charismatic Kemp, he jumps at the chance. However, Spooner soon discovers more than he bargained for in his new surroundings, making him realise that some places on earth are not meant to be occupied.

And in some places, nature has a will all of its own...
