what unfolds then?”

Irish playwright Stewart Roche's gripping psychological thriller, SHARD, will get its live theatrical Ireland Week premiere in May 2024 with a unique two-day engagement in the historic Irish pub Maggie Malones in the heart of Hollywood.
The one-man SHARD stars the talented Irish stage and screen actor Neill Fleming (GAME OF THRONES, VIKINGS, A CHRISTMAS CAROL), for whom Roche penned the role. In the play, a man flees the city and the mistakes of his past for a new beginning in an idyllic island commune but the price of escape is higher than he could have imagined.
Flemings initial virtual performance of SHARD during the height of the pandemic stunned BBC producers, who adapted it for BBC Radio and broadcast it in 2023 to major acclaim. SHARD premiered to sold out audiences in February 2024. Now Fleming will perform SHARD live for Los Angeles Ireland Week in a uniquely captivating setting: the historic and storied Molly Malone's Irish Pub.
Under the expert direction of Alan Smyth, "SHARD" will be performed for two days only for LOS ANGELES IRELAND WEEK, May 12 & 13. The play is presented in association with the Contemporary Irish Art Center, Los Angeles (CIACLA).
